Beautiful place to see the local plants, trees and flowers on a natural setting.

Another rainy day visit outside of the Big Bend National Park, but a much enjoyed peaceful place we had all to ourselves during a light rain. If you're in Marathon, don't hesitate to stop and take a walk through Gage Gardens, part of the Gage Hotel.

I had a little time to kill while traveling from Big Bend National Park and happened to see this place on Google maps. Decided to stop by, and very glad I did. This is a desert oasis that is exceptionally well maintained and cared for. Beautiful dark green grass, big shade trees, and wandering walkways invite you in to relax by a fountain and just enjoy nature. Lots of plants and birds. Dogs are welcome. There is even a little putting green if you have clubs with you and feel so inclined. I stopped in late morning on a Monday and there was only 3 other people I saw while there. Definitely worth a visit!

Beautiful little garden with nice walking paths and a wide variety of shrubs and trees, many of which are marked for easy identification. Fountains, ponds, and putting green. A good break to let the kids play a bit or stretch your legs taking a break from a drive or a hike. Restroom as well if you need them. Sweet little spot to picnic, too.

Beautiful park in the small town of Marathon! Tons of gorgeous birds for the birders to visit. It's a must! There are two ponds. One in the main part of the park to sit around. The other is one the trail and that one allows dogs to swim in. This is a dog friendly park too, they allow them to be off leash. And a beautiful rose garden as well! Such a great surprise in our stay at Marathon.
